I was enjoying my morning coffee when my phone rang. The caller ID read "FBI."

"Ma’am, this is Agent Reynolds from the FBI. We’ve detected illegal material linked to your computer. If you don’t act immediately, you and your son could be facing serious jail time." My heart pounded. "What? That’s impossible! I don’t—"

"Listen, we don’t want to make an arrest, but you must pay a fine today to clear your record. We need $8,000 via wire transfer. If you delay, warrants will be issued."

Terrified and confused, I almost followed their instructions—but something felt off. Instead of paying, I hung up and called my local FBI office.
